On July 11 a workshop entitled “Partnership for Regional Development” was held in Zaporizhzhia.
Eighty people attended the workshop. The participants of the workshop included representatives of the Oblast Council for Regional Development, members of Regional Working Group, oblast and rayon authorities, RGD regional and Kyiv staff and WD experts. During the workshop Canadian expert Mark Gale,Senior Business Officer, WD, Manitoba, delivered presentations on the Canadian experience with regional development and UDAs. Barry Lake, Senior Program Advisor, responsible for the Community Futures Program, WD Headquarters in Edmonton, spoke about CDFCs. It is necessary to mention that notwithstanding the fact that number of women and men was almost equal, men were more active in discussion, while women demonstrated knowledge of foreign languages and communicated with the experts in English.
